Park Lane New York
An icon is reborn!
The Park Lane New York has opened in Manhattan following a renovation from design agency Yabu Pushelberg that restored the existing architectural details of the historic building, originally designed in Emery Roth & Sons' trademark post-war style.
Managed by Highgate, the 47-story hotel has 610 rooms, nearly half of which overlook the park with the remaining rooms overlooking the Manhattan skyline. The property also has 11,000 square feet of updated indoor and outdoor event space.
Located on Central Park South between 5th and 6th avenues, the hotel is directly across the southeast corner of the park and within immediate walking distance to major attractions such as Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, 5th Avenue shopping and the Museum of Modern Art.
For this special project Extra Ordinario supplied the furniture for common areas and guest rooms, supporting architects' creativity whilst respecting their ideas in fulfilling the customer's wishes.
Design agency, Yabu Pushelberg, completed a total redesign of the Park Lane New York, creating a space that celebrates the property's storied history whilst reinvigorating the hotel's interiors to inject new life and a renewed but whimsical charm.
Entrusted with reawakening the spirit of the iconic hotel, Yabu Pushelberg infused subtle odes of Manhattan iconography throughout, drawing from some of the city's defining features such as Central Park and its changing seasons, renowned landmark Grand Central Station, and beloved Bemelmans Bar; incorporating the Park Lane's original spirit as an anchor upon which to build layers of wit, charm, exploration and discovery.
